  • THESE WEDDING DRESSES MADE FROM TOILET PAPER TAKE BRIDAL DIY TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF CRAZY

Thanks to Pinterest, the world of weddings has gotten much more DIY. Also much more mason jar-heavy. Is a wedding even a wedding anymore without some sort of home-decorated mason jar hanging around? And those chalkboard signs, man. Everywhere. But I digress. Recently, some brides have taken DIY weddings to a whole other level, creating wedding dresses at home instead of stopping at Kleinfelds’s. When Cheap-Chic-Weddings challenged readers to create a dress out of toilet paper (yes, toilet paper), these girls really went all out. And I mean all out.

The contestants were allowed to sew, tape, or glue their creations together and were judged on creativity, originality, beauty and (but of course) the use of toilet paper. Cheap-Chic-Weddings has been holding the contest for ten years now, and for their ten-year anniversary competition, they really upped the prizes. The first prize winner received $10,000, second place $5,000, and third place won $2,500. Not bad, right? I wouldn’t mind having someone pay me for my wedding dress, instead of dropping a ton of cash on something I’ll only wear once.

Here are the winners. Prepare to look at toilet paper in a way you never have before.

THIRD PLACE WINNER – AMBER MILLS OF TEXAS

Keep in mind, this is only third place. And the gown is entirely made out of toilet paper. This dress took Mills three months to create, and she found the special blue toilet paper on eBay. Proving both her level of creativity, and the fact that eBay really does have everything you could ever want.

SECOND PLACE WINNER – KATRINA CHALIFOUX OF TENNESSEE

Katrina also won in the 2008 contest, where she placed first. So apparently this is a thing, guys. Like a hobby. People do this more than once. For fun. I guess.

FIRST PLACE WINNER – SUSAN BRENNAN OF MICHIGAN

Brennan only spent a month making this dress. One month and 17 ultra-soft two-ply rolls of Charmin. Are you impressed yet? Because I am.

“It’s got this lace-looking top, lots of beading. And then it’s got a kind of ‘princessy’ long skirt, but then you can take it off and there’s a short little fringe shirt underneath it for dancing,” Brennan said.

  • Uma Thurman looks bridal as she stuns in head to toe ivory in Japan

It has recently come to light that she is romantically involved with long term friend and director Quentin Tarantino.

Which might explain why actress Uma Thurman chose a bridal inspired look for Bulgari's 130th anniversary party in Tokyo on Thursday.

Dressed in shoulder to toe ivory the 44-year-old actress looked stunning in her sophisticated look, pairing a floor length satin skirt with a loose fit silky shirt and glamorous jewels.

Got something to tell us: Uma looked like she could have been on her way to her own wedding in her head to toe ivory outfit

The Kill Bill actress paired her look with satin ivory heels and wore her hair pinned back with loose tendrils escaping to frame her face.

Since they were seen posing closely on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival earlier this month, where Uma was also wearing a bridal-inspired bespoke Marchesa gown, US Weekly reported that the pair have stepped up their friendship to the next level.

The couple first worked together 20 years ago when director Quentin cast her in Kill Bill, a move which ultimately kick started her Hollywood career and led him to declare her his 'muse'.

'They had a thing and got together again recently,' an insider tells Us Weekly, adding: 'He's loved her for years.'

The pair walked hand-in-hand down the red carpet at both the Clouds Of Sils Maria premiere on May 23 and as they attended the closing ceremony and A Fistful Of Dollars screening the following day.

Nine years after first teaming up together, Quentin once again directed the pretty blonde in the lead role in gory Kill Bill: Vol 1, followed by Vol 2 the following year, with rumours rife that a Vol 3 could be in the works, which will see them work together once more.

Speaking of their bond, the 44-year-old mother-of-three says she believes it's their differences that unite them and make their partnership work.

'I think we're really different people actually, but that's what's fun about talking to each other. We have very different perspectives,' she said during a 2004 interview. 'He's a very extroverted, public person. I'm a very introverted person. We're just very different characters.'

While the acclaimed 51-year-old director has reportedly long had feelings for Uma, only now is the timing right as they both find themselves single at the same time.
