  • Sean Lowe, Catherine Giudici Lowe Embrace Wedding Anniversary: What Did ‘Bachelor’ Duo Do?

One year ago, Bachelor fans watched as Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici got married. It’s been a whirlwind year for them, but it looks like they decided to take some time to embrace their anniversary and look back on their first year of marriage in a fun and quiet way. How did they celebrate?

Sean and Catherine have been sharing a few posts via social media, and it looks like they decided to head back to where the big day happened: Santa Barbara, California. As People shares, the Lowes are spending a long weekend at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore, the same venue where they tied the knot on January 26, 2014.

The Bachelor couple has shared some photos of their trip, and it looks like they’re having a grand time. Photos include one as they were getting started on their travel, a couple as they were out riding bikes, several as they dined outdoors, and even one of the two doing facials and watching some a UFC battle.

Sean joked in one photo, “1 year down, 73 to go,” and it certainly seems that this Bachelor duo is doing well. They’ve kept busy with appearances and projects, as Sean even has a book coming out at the end of the month titled For the Right Reasons: America’s Favorite Bachelor on Faith, Love, Marriage, and Why Nice Guys Finish First.

The Lowes walked the red carpet at the recent Bachelor 2015 premiere for Chris Soules’ season, and naturally they were asked about having kids. Though they’ve said in the past they are looking forward to building a family, they’re not jumping into that scene quite yet.

Despite speculation that Catherine was pregnant as they walked the red carpet, she’s said that’s not the case. Sean indicated that they may look to 2016 to plan on having their first child. For now, it seems that they’re content to play aunt and uncle to their extended family’s children.

In fact, fans fell in love with Sean’s sister Shay during his season and her family just brought home baby Ashby via adoption from China. Sean and Catherine have been posting quite a few shots of Ashby already, swooning over her, so it seems for now her addition to the family may keep everybody busy for a bit.

Despite the recent split between Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray, there’s plenty of happiness in the land of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried just got married, and Chris Soules says he’s in love. Fans are still hoping for a wedding between Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul, and, of course, Ashley and JP Rosenbaum recently added baby Fordham to their family.

While babies may not be on the way yet for Sean and Catherine, Bachelor fans are thrilled for Catherine Giudici Lowe and Sean Lowe as they celebrate their one-year anniversary.

  • Annual bridal show to simplify wedding planning

Once you’ve decided to get married, there are all sorts of other decisions to make.

Where will the ceremony and celebration take place? Who will take the pictures, make the cake and arrange the flowers? There’s attire to consider, along with music, jewelry and food. The list goes on.

It can get overwhelming, but here’s a way to simplify the process: Attend The Capital Region’s Premier Bridal Show Extravaganza on Sunday. The event, presented by The Daily Gazette, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Hall of Springs and the Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa in Saratoga Springs.

The largest show in the event’s 15-year history, it will feature 138 wedding professionals ranging from bakers to videographers, including 33 reception venues and caterers.

The first step in wedding planning is to pick a venue, noted CJ Dufort, special events coordinator for The Daily Gazette.

“They can come to the show and speak with the 33 different venues and get an idea as to a place, and you can book something right there,” she said.

Participating restaurants and venues will serve food and beverage samples, including hors d’oeuvres provided by the Hall of Springs and the Gideon Putnam.

Unique to the Bridal Show Extravaganza is the Bridal Gown Gallery.

“Rather than a fashion show, where you actually sit down and watch someone on a runway, this is directly one-on-one,” Dufort explained.

Couples can view wedding dresses and other formal wear from Something Bleu Bridal, Saratoga Elegance and Tuxego of Latham. Professionals from each business will be on hand to answer questions.

The bridal show also offers an opportunity to meet a variety of wedding professionals.

“You can speak directly with your photographer, your DJ, a band, a videographer and become comfortable with them. They’re going to be shadowing you the entire [wedding] day, especially your photographer and videographer. You want to make sure you have a good chemistry between you,” Dufort said.

One member of each wedding couple that attends the bridal show will receive a raffle form for prizes, including an ultimate bachelorette party from Glennpeter Jewelers; a pearl, diamond and sapphire necklace from Sondra’s Fine Jewelry; and a 51-inch Samsung plasma HDTV from L&M TV and Appliance.

Entry to the show is $5 per person at the door. Parking is available in front of both the Hall of Springs and the Gideon Putnam, as well as in the Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s lot. A free shuttle will run continuously during the show from the SPAC lot to the Hall of Springs and the Gideon Putnam.

  • The Bachelor Recap: The 4 Most Bizarre Moments, Including a Truly Astonishing Amount of Makeout Sessions

On this week's episode of The Bachelor, Jimmy Kimmel stopped by to insert himself into the activities and, most importantly, bestow upon the house an "Amazing Jar," into which the contestants – and Chris Soules himself – had to deposit one dollar every time they said the word "amazing."

We don't know how many dollars ended up in that jar, but probably one hundred thousand, give or take.

Kimmel made his debut on the episode by entering Chris's temporary home and waking him from a shirtless slumber. "What the f---," said Chris, pointing in Kimmel's face. In that moment, Chris basically summed up the episode ahead.

Here are the four moments from this week's Bachelor that had us wondering what butterfly wing flapped so many thousands of years ago that we ended up with this pure insanity on our television screens.

    1. Dates as Free Labor

Did you guys know that Chris is a farmer?

In this week's edition of women debasing themselves to go on a date with a man simultaneously dating a harem full of women, the ladies had to do a series of farming-related tasks. It was truly incredible.

They had to shuck corncobs, nab chicken eggs from a coop of terrified chickens, cook the eggs and then had to milk goats. And then drink the milk. And they did it! Can you imagine? Well, Carly, Jillian and a few others had no need to imagine – they lived it.

After that horror show, the girls had to put the fear of God into even more animals as they chased some greased-up pigs around a pen and had to catch one of them and put them into another pen.

Carly won, and Kimmel bestowed upon her a blue ribbon, not unlike a prize-winning animal would receive at a county fair.

    2. The Face-Mashing

There were so many makeouts this episode. So many.

When Mackenzie asked him why he was making out with so many girls, Chris began to sweat profusely, explaining that it's just how he gets to know people, or something. It was awkward, but strangely gratifying. It did not curb his behavior in any way, however.

When Chris leaned in for a kiss from Becca, he got – epically, thrillingly – denied, and the two shared a chaste hug instead. Later, she received a rose, but given that she was the only one to not share in the antibodies being transferred from mouth-to-mouth all episode, she's probably not long for this world.

So many mouth sounds. During Ashley I.'s makeout, she interjected in a talking head that she was worried about her kiss because nervousness made her mouth dry. Judging by the sounds, Chris had plenty of saliva to go around.
