New Fashion Documentary Lets You Walk In Manolo Blahnik’s Shoes

    Mark your calendars, Carries.

Hot on the stylish heels of fashion docs like L’Amour Fou and Dior and I comes Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards, an in-depth portrait of legendary shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. The hands-on Spanish designer became a household name in the late ’90s thanks in part to repeated exposure in HBO’s Sex and the City.

“I can’t remember the last time I wore anybody else’s shoes,” says Vogue editor Anna Wintour in the film’s trailer. “I mean, I don’t even look at them.”

Of course, he doesn’t just make strappy stilettos for SJP wannabes. “His men’s shoes, well, they’re just kind of slightly more feminine versions of the women’s shoes,” actor Rupert Everett jokes.

The trailer also shows the flamboyant 74-year-old designer sharing a laugh with Rihanna, who has collaborated several times with the designer, most recently on the statement footwear featured in her “Wild Thoughts” video.

The directorial debut of British fashion journalist and artist Michael Roberts, Manolo also features chats with famous friends and fans Paloma Picasso, Iman, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Isaac Mizrahi, and André Leon Talley.

  • Jennifer Lopez Hits the Gym

Jennifer Lopez Hits the Gym in Chic Sheer-Paneled Yoga Pants & These Comfy Nikes People Are Raving About

Though Jennifer Lopez is known for her designer heels, the star takes it easy in a pair of sneakers from time to time. Aside from the white Gucci kicks she wore to visit the Louvre in Paris with her beau, baseball star Alex Rodriguez, J-Lo was spotted hitting up a New York City gym this week in Nike sneakers the internet can’t get enough of.

According to online reviews — reported by Who What Wear — one user confirms the workout shoes “are the comfiest pair I own.” Another customer wrote in, “I have 2 pairs and a pair for my husband.”

However, the best part about them is reportedly the cloth material within the shoes, a commenter pointed out. In accordance with the highly positive feedback, the fact that they’re good enough for the legendary performer already sets them apart. On top of that, you can’t go wrong with athletic gear for $120.

To complete her look, the “World of Dance” judge wore her Nikes with Beyond Yoga blue and black sheer paneled high-waisted leggings that are now on sale for $93. She kept the rest of her gym outfit low-key with a black OP by Icons of Culture cropped tee and nothing else, except her phone in hand.
