  • Brownlow red carpet 2015: The WAG trends

It's rare to have a Brownlow red carpet without any style train wrecks but with the likes of Brynne Edelsten and Gabi Grecko absent, the 2015 affair was a sophisticated affair with sequins and spray tans coming out on top as the real winners of the night.

Here are some of the biggest trends spotted on the night:

The AFL's night of nights hasn't been this shiny and glittery since Tania Buckley's g-string stole the show in 2001. From the west Lauren Pavlich, wife of Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich, and Elle Demasi, partner of Nic Naitanui, shone bright like the diamonds Rihanna sang about in custom Ae'lkemi gowns.

Rory Sloane's partner Belinda Riverso put her back into with a Morticia Addams sleeved, high neck gown. The dramatic dress featured a beaded chandelier which took over Riverso's entire back. No word yet if The Block are missing some light fittings.

Heidi Greig, partner of Shaun Higgins, braved the cold in a molten silver column dress by Pearls and Roses Bridal. She nailed the busy look with minimal jewels and a Bali inspired spray tan.

Dane Swan's partner Taylor Wilson was a welcome return to the red carpet this year, albeit sans pants. Her sheer black Helen Manuell gown showed off why pilates is great while endorsing full brief bloomers. Who knew they could translate so well from the netball court to the red carpet?

Rebeccah Panozza, partner of Travis Cloke, appeared as if she walked through a fancy, bejewelled spider web by Elly Sofocli. While Ruby Keddie, partner of Callan Ward, was wrapped in 25 metres of lavender silk by Sonia Cappellazzo, and one upped Angelina Jolie's leg from the Oscars stunt by showing off her mons pubis.

Renee Enright, wife of Corey Enright, and Alex Davis, Scott Pendlebury's fiancee, in Pearls and Roses Bridal and Jane Hill Bridal respectively, opted to avoid slip ups by wearing slips under their sheer creations.

Brittany Davis, Jordan Papalia, Nadia Bartel.

Attention Duchess of Cambridge, throw out your boring nude pumps, this is how you do a neutral palette. Brittany Davis, partner of Joel Selwood, was seemless in a Silvana Tedesco Couture body condom creation, while Nadia Bartell, wife of Jimmy Bartell, showed off her baby bump in a blush, body hugging Paolo Sebastian dress.

Jordan Papalia, fiancee of Gary Ablett, Jr., demonstrated what would happen to a dress if it was put through a blender. The result - a bone Sonia Cappellazzo dress riddled with cut outs - was more delicious than a banana smoothie.

    Clementine McVeigh and Jessie Habermann.

Forget the football, three votes went to Clementine McVeigh, wife of Jarrad McVeigh. The model, dressed in Monique Lhuillier and dripping in Cerrone jewels, looked like she took a wrong turn en route to New York for the Met Gala. She told Fairfax Media she couldn't breathe, but that didn't stop her taking away the breath of onlookers.

Newly engaged Jessie Habermann, fiancee of Marc Murphy, in Oglialoro Couture, was like a long lost Collins sister wearing nearly every bead, diamond and ostrich feather available in the southern hemisphere. She wore a gown worth $26,000 last year but wouldn't be drawn on the cost of this year's creation. Also on Monday NASA confirmed they found water on Mars, coincidentally they can also see her Anton Jewellery engagement ring from there too.

    Rebecca Judd.

For her 11th, a possibly last Brownlow, the AFL's red carpet queen raided Tutankhamun's tomb. Her muted neon, hand beaded J'Aton gown was made in 24-hours. Long may she reign.

  • Things To Consider Before Making A Wedding Proposal

Ladies often dream of having beautiful and rosy proposals from the men. Every girl wants this life changing event to be remarkable and memorable. A marriage proposal isn’t meant to be boring and it shouldn’t be too clumsy either.

For a proposal to stand out in its true context, it should conform to more than one of the following criteria.

    Engagement Ring

This is an essential part of making a wedding proposal. Without the engagement ring, the whole preparation is a waste. A man should never make the mistake of proposing to a woman without it. The affair would look like a joke as there’s no emblem of union. The ring is a symbol of love, a promise of marriage and a constant reminder of commitment. It doesn’t have to be expensive; it should be affordable and definitely beautiful.

    Parents’ Approval

It is necessary to gain parents’ approval before going ahead with the proposal. There’s basically no point making a wedding proposal to the lady when the parents haven’t reached an agreement. It would be a total waste of time and energy for so much effort to be put into something that may never happen. After blessings and approvals have been received, the proposal could forge ahead.

    Perfect Timing

The time the proposal would be done should be carefully mapped out. The man could look into the lady’s plans to fix a time that would be free for her. It would be laughable to get stood up by the lady when you have set everything in place for a proposal.

    Beautiful Arena

The man should try his best possible when picking the spot where the proposal would be done. Depending on the taste of the lady in question, the arena could be a natural garden with lots of air and cool music and it could be in some exotic bar or restaurant. However, one should always consider the negative part of it too if she were to turn down the offer. Thus, a quiet and not too busy place would be nice.

    Inspiring Words

While the words of proposal shouldn’t be exaggerated, it is important for the man to highlight the things he likes about her and make the words as beautiful as ever. It doesn’t have to be lengthy, but it should convey the right emotion and be convincing.

    Top Secret

The wedding proposal plan should be as discrete as possible. The arrangement should be guarded so as not to spoil the thrill. Every girl looks forward to being engaged yet they still want the moment to creep in on them unannounced.

A Place To Celebrate With Friends Later

After the proposal has been made and the expected answer gotten, friends could be invited to join in the celebration of love. They could move to another environment or remain there for the party. The newly engaged lady gets to show off her ring and have a fun filled day at the end of it all.
